Ms. Meers is the wife of former, long time Loudon County Commissioner, David Meers.

Susan J. Meers age 69 of Loudon passed away October 18, 2022 at River Grove. Susan taught 38 years, 2 years in Georgia and 36 years in the Loudon County School System. She received her EDS from Tennessee Tech. Susan loved teaching children and seeing become productive citizens. Her love for students was very exemplary. Susan loved her schnauzers, Lady, Darby, Bella, and Sophie.

Preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Randel Johns. Survived by her husband of 45 years, David L. Meers who was by her side during her 11 month sickness; brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Julia Hamilton; nephews, Tyler and Andrew Hamilton. A special thanks to friends, Charlie Bettis, Ed and Tracy Heilman, Bud Nelms, and Cindy Curtis. Also a special thanks to the nurses and CNA’s on the D Hall at River Grove for going beyond the call to help Susan during her time of sickness.

The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 20th at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. We will then proceed to Loudon Co. Memorial Gardens for graveside services at 2 p.m. with Rev. Jon Henson and Rev. James Harrison officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Highland Park School Library in Susan’s honor. Serving as pallbearers: Bud Nelms, Ty Ross, Jim Thomason, Bryan Curtis, Robby Oody, and Charlie Bettis. Honorary pallbearers will be Ed Heilman and Ben Curtis. Click Funeral Home, 109 Walnut Street, Lenoir City is in charge of arrangements.
