Mr. Matlock is a local businessman owning many
business properties in Lenoir City and has been involved in local
politics. Mark Steven Matlock Sr. Obituary Mark Steven Matlock, Sr. age 64 of Lenoir City, passed away suddenly on January 5, 2025. Mark was a graduate of Lenoir City High School and the University of Tennessee College of Architecture. He started Construction Design and Management in Lenoir City in 1986. Mark attended Two Rivers Church. He was a true Tennessee Volunteer, watching and attending U. T. basketball and football games with his family and friends. Mark loved to “go and do”, whether that was on his boat, at his condo in Destin, skiing in the mountains or traveling to his favorite vacation spots. He loved his kids and grandkids, his favorite name was “Pops”. Mark also greatly loved his employees, whom he considered family, and enjoyed serving his community alongside them. Preceded in death by his father, Bill Matlock. He is survived by his mother, Sylvia Alford Matlock; children: daughter, Emily Matlock Yoakum (Aaron), son, Mark “Steven” Matlock Jr. (Becca); grandchildren: Jaimeson and Sydney Yoakum, Brewer and Tatum Matlock; sister and brother-in-law, Lisa and Greg Moyers and their children, Megan and Garrett; girlfriend: Jamie Loden and her family. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, January 10th at Two Rivers Church, 275 Harrison Lane, Lenoir City 37772. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. Rev. Larry Boyles will officiate. Family and friends will gather at Click Funeral Home by 12:30 p.m. on Saturday and proceed to Lakeview Cemetery for 1 p.m. graveside services and interment.
