News Herald Arrest Report
Man charged after yelling
racial slurs
A
local man was arrested March 8 after yelling racial slurs
and threatening violence at a residence in Tellico Village.
Three Loudon County Sheriffs Office deputies responded to a house regarding an unwanted guest. Deputies talked to a man who said he and his employees were at a job site when Brian Timothy Johnson, 48, came into the place where they were working. Johnson was reported to be yelling racial slurs at the workers and threatened to retrieve a gun and kill all the employees on the job site. Johnson then left for a nearby residence, while the men at the job site went to the end of the driveway. The men told deputies they were in fear for their safety and believed Johnson was going to retrieve a gun.
Deputies talked
with Johnson, who was observed at the property line
yelling at the construction workers. Johnson was
escorted back to the driveway of his residence and
patted down for weapons.
Johnson had
slurred speech, was unsteady on his feet and had a smell
of alcohol on his breath, according to the report. He
denied yelling or making threats.
Johnson was
charged with aggravated burglary, assault, disorderly
conduct and public intoxication and held on $9,000 bond.
