News Herald Arrest Report
Loudon woman arrested after
stabbing
A
Loudon woman was arrested Thursday and charged with domestic
assault after stabbing a sleeping man.
Loudon County Sheriffs Deputy Teddy Scarborough responded to a call for a potential stabbing and encountered the man propping himself up on a mailbox a few houses down the road from the incident. The man was bleeding badly from his hand, and Scarborough had to render first aid by applying a tourniquet to the mans upper arm. The man said he had been asleep on a sofa and suddenly awoke to Sherron Lee Shelton, 53, stabbing him. Scarborough wrote in his report that the man had a through-and-through stab wound to the hand as well as several cuts and slices to his forearm, all of which appeared to be defensive wounds. He also had small slash on the cheek.
The man said he
suspected the attack was prompted by an argument he had
with Shelton before lying down to rest. Shelton denied
any involvement in the incident, but Scarborough wrote
in his report that she appeared to have blood on her
shirt.
Shelton was
charged with aggravated assault and released on $25,000
bond.
