Loudon Town Hall
L-R John Hutton, Tammi Bivens, Rene' McGill Schultz, Tim Brewster,
Jeff Harris,
Jimmy Parks, Tim Dixon, Mike Cartwright, Johnny James, Dennis Stewert
Ten of the twelve candidates seeking office in the
Loudon City election met Thursday in a town hall style event to meet
voters and answer questions of their positions on various topics. Mayor
candidate, Jim Greenway was absent due to some prescheduled surgery.
Bill Buzz Hendrix was also absent due to prescheduled vacation. However,
both had prerecorded answers that were played during the meeting.
The questions were given to each candidate by a random drawing of seat numbers. A good crowd gathered to hear the candidates answer their questions. Overall, it was a good opportunity for candidates to speak and voters to hear what they had to say. One question that caught the attention of the crowd was, would you ever consider a Rain Tax like Lenoir City has passed. That question went to Tim Brewster, candidate for council. His answer was, "Absolutely Not". |
