News Herald Arrest Report
Loudon man jailed for business
theft
A
Loudon man was arrested Feb. 21 after taking about $3,500
worth of equipment from his workplace.
Loudon County Sheriffs Office received word of suspicious persons walking in the back lot of a local wrecker service and a vehicle waiting just outside the tow yard. While responding to the call, Sgt. Christian Rogers observed a similar vehicle leaving the site and gave chase. The vehicle accelerated at a high rate of speed despite Rogers use of emergency lights, and he noticed the registration was covered in black plastic.
Rogers pursued the
vehicle from Highway 70 to Bluebird Lane, where the driver
exited and ran on foot. Rogers yelled taser and the
individual, identified as Joshua Lynn Carr, 47, gave up and
dropped to the ground.
Carr told deputies
he worked at the wrecker service and had taken wheels
because he needed money to pay his familys electric
bills. He said he covered the vehicles registration
with tape because he was unsure if there were cameras.
Rogers located seven trailer rims in the vehicle. According to an employee of the wrecker service, the rims are worth approximately $500 apiece.
