Loudon man faces attempted murder

A Loudon man is facing multiple charges, including attempted first-degree murder, after law enforcement learned he stabbed his father multiple times.

Daniel Aaron Stinnett, 28, stabbed his father Feb. 12 on his chest, arms and left leg as they were traveling on U.S. Highway 321 North. The father was able to exit the moving vehicle and was transported to University of Tennessee Medical Center.

After spotting Stinnett’s gold Toyota Camry, Lenoir City Police Sgt. Ronnie Reagan pursued the vehicle, which struck a Ford F-250 occupied by a man, a 4-year-old boy and a woman and her unborn child on Rudy Lane in Lenoir City.

“Daniel Stinnett recklessly engaged in conduct that placed another person, in this case four individuals, in imminent danger of death or serious bodily injury, due care or regard for public safety when he fled law enforcement after committing a violent felony against his father,” LCPD Inv. Brad Brown wrote in his report.

Stinnett also struck Reagan’s police cruiser four times before being stopped and taken into custody.

Stinnett was charged with attempted first-degree murder, evading arrest, six counts of aggravated assault, four counts of reckless endangerment, due care, duty to render aid and give information and leaving the scene of an accident of property damage and held on $410,000 bond.

Four caught in drug bust

Observing several people meet in the parking lot of a Loudon pharmacy in two separate vehicles and then pull into a gas station parking lot, 9th Judicial Drug Task Force agents and Loudon County Sheriff’s Office investigators saw William Shane Roberts step out of a vehicle and meet with two individuals in a white Ford Ranger.

Agents saw a hand-to-hand transaction and law enforcement approached both vehicles and identified Roberts, Knikki Francesca Slavens, Tony Ray Mckenzie and Jonathan Cody Pierce.

“After interviews of all parties it was determined that Pierce supplied Roberts and Slaven with money in order to pick up Slaven’s prescription from the pharmacy (and) in exchange Pierce was purchasing two Buprenorphine pills from Roberts and Slaven,” Agent April Farmer wrote in her report.

Officers found a glass pipe on Roberts. Inside the vehicle with Roberts and Pierce were “several loose pills” thrown into the vehicle when agents arrived, including 20 Clonazepam pills and four Buprenorphine pills. Slavens also had a pill bottle with eight white pills and a blue glass pipe. Mckenzie was found with a pill bottle that contained methamphetamine, along with a cut straw with residue.
