News Herald Arrest Report
Loudon man charged with assault, robbery A Loudon man is facing assault and robbery charges after law enforcement responded to a call on Corinth Road.
Daniel Aaron Stinnett, 27, entered into the home of a
man and woman with the intent to rob the woman of her prescription
medication, according to reports. Stinnett went inside the house
with a rifle and pointed it at the man and woman, “demanding” the
medication be given to him.
“When (the woman) didn’t comply, Daniel Stinnett
became angry and engaged in a physical assault with (the man),”
Loudon County Sheriff’s Office Inv. Sgt. Charlie Cosner wrote in his
report. “Daniel Stinnett then fired the rifle at (the woman) while
she sat on the couch.”
Stinnett left the residence with 40 Xanax pills.
Once outside, he fired a shot through the back door into the
house, according to the report.
Deputy Billy Lewis arrived on scene and could
hear shooting. Stinnett shot at Lewis, forcing him to stand
behind a tree. Stinnett then tried to enter Lewis’ patrol car.
He refused to comply with Lewis’ commands to surrender,
re-entered his car but eventually exited and was taken into
custody. Cpl. Marty Branam and Deputy Kenny Palmer were also on
scene.
Stinnett was charged with two counts of felony
domestic assault, aggravated burglary and aggravated assault and
held on $125,000 bond.
