Loudon man
charged with assault, evading
A Loudon man was taken to
Loudon County Jail after police responded to the call of a physical
disturbance Friday in the 400 block of Pine Top Street in Loudon.
Dispatched to a dispute between Joshua Alan Underwood, 29, Loudon, and a woman at the residence, Loudon Police Officer James Cogdill spoke with numerous witnesses who spotted Underwood running through the neighborhood, according to the arrest report.
While pursing Underwood, Cogdill spoke with residents in the
area, who said a man matching Underwood's description ran toward
Smokey Drive and into a forested area near Clyde Street. Officer
Bobby Lankford located Underwood and placed him into custody.
The woman at the Pine Top Street home told police she picked up
Underwood at 4:15 p.m. that day, and he was upset because she
was late, Cogdill wrote in the report.
"Mr. Underwood grabbed her by the throat and hit her on the
right side of her face causing bruising and scratch marks on her
neck (and) that's when Mr. Underwood fled on foot," Cogdill
wrote.
Underwood was charged with domestic assault-misdemeanor, two
counts of evading arrest, failure to appear-general sessions,
violation of probation and theft of property and held on $26,000
bond.

simple possession/casual exchange and violation of probation and
held on $2,000 bond.

failure to appear and released on $5,000 bond.
• Jason Michael Yorek, 33, Lenoir City, was charged with driving
on a revoked/suspended license and released on $2,500 bond.
March 8
• Jamie Brian Couch, 37, Loudon, was charged with domestic
assault-misdemeanor and released on $2,000 bond.
• Sommer Lynn George, 33, Louisville, was charged with driving
on a revoked/suspended license and released on $3,000 bond.
• Christine Denise Howard, 28, Knoxville, was charged with
identity theft, forgery and driving on a revoked/suspended
license and released on $11,000 bond.
• Clarence Reed Julian, 43, Kingston, was charged with
attachment-juvenile court and released on $150 bond.
• Joseph Michael Masters, 44, Lenoir City, was charged with
driving on a revoked/suspended license and released without
bond.
• Jennifer Elaine Mathieu, 33, Kingston, was charged with
violation of probation and held without bond.
March 9
• George Nickerson Coffman, 56, Lenoir City, was charged with
driving on a revoked/suspended license and released without
bond.
• Richard Bruce Hall, 35, Sweetwater, was charged with violation
of probation and released on $2,000 bond.
• Donald Edeard McCoy, 38, Knoxville, was charged with
contraband in a penal institution and driving on a
revoked/suspended license and released on $12,000 bond.
• Rebekah Elinor Rogers, 22, Crossville, was charged with
driving under the influence and released on $2,000 bond.
• Jessica Nicole Sanchez, 28, Sweetwater, was charged with
public intoxication and released without bond.

driving on a revoked/suspended license and financial
responsibility law and released without bond.

• David Wayne Jacobs, 55, Madisonville, was charged with driving
on a revoked/suspended license and released on $1,000 bond.
• Lesa Annette McCulloch, 53, Madisonville, was charged with
possession of a Schedule II substance and held without bond.
• Kenneth Heath McElhaney, 37, Rockwood, was charged with theft
under $500 and criminal trespass and released on $4,000 bond.
• Yuimi Sophia Montemoso, 31, Lenoir City, was charged with
driving without a valid license and released without bond.
• Michael Eugene Pack, 36, Loudon, was charged with possession
of drug paraphernalia, simple possession/casual exchange and
tampering/fabricating with evidence and held on $14,000 bond.
• Timothy Michael Patterson, 37, Loudon, was charged with
failure to appear-general sessions and violation of community
corrections and held on $2,500 bond.
• Andrew Michael White, 25, Vonore, was charged with failure to
appear-general sessions and released on $2,000 bond.
March 11
• Michael Steven Coffman, 28, Lenoir City, was charged with
possession of a firearm during a dangerous felony, possession of
drug paraphernalia, possession of a Schedule III substance and
criminal impersonation and held on $9,500 bond.
• Barbara Ann Gaston, 41, Lenoir City, was charged with driving
on a revoked/suspended license and released on $2,000 bond.
• Selena Michelle Gribble, 41, Maryville, was charged with
manufacture/sell/possession of a controlled substance and held
on $30,000 bond. On advisement from dispatch, Loudon County
Sheriff's Office Deputy Craig Brewer was on the lookout for a
blue Chevrolet in the 9200 block of U.S. Highway 321 South when
he stopped the driver, Gribble, and found she had a suspended
license, according to the arrest report. After Gribble gave
verbal consent to search the car, deputies found six round pills
identified as morphine sulfate 15 mg, Brewer wrote in the
report. Brewer also found a notebook that listed pill counts,
amounts for each pill and a list of people, according to the
arrest report.
• Carla Grimstead, 44, Sweetwater, was charged with three counts
of simple possession/casual exchange and possession of drug
paraphernalia and held on $8,000 bond. Noticing that a driver of
a green Saturn was not wearing a seat belt on McCrary Street,
LCSO Deputy Cody Fritts stopped the car at Pond Creek Road and
identified the driver as Grimstead and the passenger as William
Lanter, who was found with warrants out of Loudon and Monroe
counties. While speaking with Grimstead, Fritts saw signs of
intravenous drug use on the inside of her arms, according to the
arrest report. During a search of the vehicle, police found a
baggy with 0.2 grams of a white powder believed to be
methamphetamine, 2 1/2 white pills believed to be Opana and a
marijuana cigarette in a black case, Fritts wrote. Seventeen
syringes, a pill crusher, a marijuana pipe, a spoon and four
other baggies with meth residue were also found in a makeup bag
inside Grimstead's purse, according to the arrest report.
• William Floyd Lanter, 50, Philadelphia, was charged with a
suspended driver's license and held without bond.
• Candace Dione Hernandez, 36, Greenback, was charged with
driving under the influence and held on $1,000 bond.
• Heath Jackson, 35, Sweetwater, was charged with driving on a
revoked/suspended license and held on $2,500 bond.
• Kara Christine Knight, 26, Lenoir City, was charged with child
support, criminal impersonation, contempt of court out of Blount
County and possession of drug paraphernalia and held on $5,300
bond. Noticing a possible disturbance at a motel in
Philadelphia, LCSO Deputy Chris Jenkins spoke with a renter, who
said a woman that he did not know was in the shower, according
to the arrest report. The woman initially told Jenkins her name
was Brittany Denise Covington, and when Jenkins ran the name
through the National Crime Information Center, he determined
that person had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear for
possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the arrest
report. The woman then told Jenkins that her real name was Kara
Christine Knight and admitted to using a fake name. Another
check through NCIC revealed that Knight had outstanding warrants
for child support in Loudon County and contempt of court in
Blount County, according to the arrest report. During a search
of Knight's purse, police found a syringe, and Knight admitted
the item belonged to her.
• Luis Angel Saucedo, 20, Lenoir City, was charged with driving
without a valid license and financial responsibility law and
released without bond.
• Jeremiah Charles Burchfield, 40, Loudon, was charged with
driving on a revoked/suspended license and released on $2,000
bond.
• Michael Steven Coffman, 28, Lenoir City, was charged with
possession of a firearm during a dangerous felony, possession of
drug paraphernalia and possession of a Schedule III substance
and held on $8,500 bond.
• Barbara Ann Gaston, 41, Lenoir City, was charged with driving
on a revoked/suspended license and released on $2,000 bond.
• Selena Michelle Gribble, 41, Maryville, was charged with
manufacture/sell/possession of a controlled substance and held
on $30,000 bond.
March 12
• Emily Nicole Bethancourt, 21, homeless, was charged with
criminal impersonation and violation of probation and held on
$5,000 bond.
• Richard Lee Brotherton, 41, Loudon, was charged with driving
on a revoked license and released on $1,000 bond.
• Maureen Julie Brown, 55, Lenoir City, was charged with driving
under the influence and held on $1,500 bond.
• Ramon Vincente Chepe, 27, Lenoir City, was charged with
driving without a valid license and released without bond.
• Luis Alberto Lopez, 36, Lenoir City, was charged with driving
under the influence and driving without a valid license and
released on $3,000 bond.
• Kenneth Carl Loveday, 44, Knoxville, was charged with driving
on a suspended license, driving under the influence, possession
of drug paraphernalia and simple possession of Schedule VI
substance and held on $9,000 bond.
• Natasha Lynn Ramsey, 23, Vonore, was charged with two counts
of simple possession/casual exchange, driving on a
revoked/suspended license and possession of drug paraphernalia
and held on $8,000 bond. Spotting a white Chrysler 200 traveling
on Spring Street, the driver, Ramsey, was identified as having a
revoked driver's license, and she was also wanted for
questioning in connection with an aggravated assault, LCSO
Deputy Cody Fritts wrote in the arrest report. When Fritts
turned his patrol car around to pursue Ramsey, the driver began
traveling at a "high rate of speed" before stopping in the 100
block of Donaldson Road, according to the report. Ramsey told
deputies that she had some marijuana and a pipe in the passenger
floorboard of the car, Fritts wrote. Police found 0.5 grams of
marijuana, a pipe and a cut straw in the vehicle. A cigarette
package containing a white pill believed to be Suboxone was also
found in the middle console of the car, according to the report.
• John Henry Wallace, 36, Philadelphia, was charged with
domestic assault-misdemeanor and vandalism and released on
$2,000 bond. Responding to a call of a domestic dispute in the
900 block of Old Lee Highway, LCSO Deputy Kenny Palmer arrived
to find Wallace in the living room attempting to pull a woman
off the floor, and Palmer heard the man yelling at the woman,
according to the arrest report. After separating the couple,
Palmer spoke with Wallace, who became "belligerent and stated
nothing was happening and he was tired of this that he was not
going to jail," Palmer wrote in the report. The woman told
police that she was sitting in a chair when Wallace came back
from the store. Wallace, who had been drinking, began yelling at
her and flipped over her chair, causing her to flip backward and
hit her head on a table, Palmer wrote. Wallace was determined to
be the primary aggressor. While at Loudon County Jail, Wallace
knocked a hole in the wall of a bathroom, which led to the
vandalism charge, Palmer wrote.
March 13
• Wendy Michelle Crawley, 33, Chattanooga, was charged with
theft under $500 and held without bond. Dispatched to a call of
a shoplifter at a retail store in Lenoir City, police spoke with
a loss prevention employee, who said Crawley was seen taking a
phone charger, a safety light and a nail kit and hiding them in
her purse, according to the arrest report. Crawley then left the
store without paying for the items, according to police.
• Kayla Nikole Kidd, 24, Sweetwater, was charged with driving
under the influence and released on $2,000 bond.
• Addison Isaiah Selvidge, 18, Loudon, was charged with
possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a Schedule VI
substance and released on $2,000 bond.
March 14
• Michael Eugene Chastain, 42, Lenoir City, was charged with
driving on a revoked/suspended license and held on $1,000 bond.
• Gerardo Medina-Medina, 58, Lenoir City, was charged with
driving without a valid license and released without bond.
• Travis Dewayne Selvidge, 31, Lenoir City, was charged with
driving on a revoked license and released on $1,000 bond.
