Loudon man arrested with warrant in Roane County

An unlit license plate has resulted in a Loudon man facing multiple charges.

On June 18, 2024, at approximately 10:41 p.m, Deputy Robert Brockwell with the Loudon County Sheriff ’s Office observed a blue Ford Ranger driving on Highway 72 with no tag lights.

Brockwell initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle on Roberson Springs Road at the intersection of Highway 72. He then spoke with the driver, identified as 35-yearold Shawn Williams of Loudon.

When Brockwell asked Williams for his driver’s license, he stated that he didn’t have one. Brockwell however did gather the driver’s name, date of birth, and Social Security number and ran the information through dispatch.

After Brockwell gathered the information, Williams stated that he had a warrant out of Roane County, Tenn., for Failure to Appear. Brockwell ran him through dispatch and his license came back revoked indefinitely for Driving Under the Influence of drugs and/or alcohol.

According to the arrest report, Brockwell then placed Williams under arrest for driving on a revoked license.

His vehicle was towed and was transported to the Loudon County Detention Facility. While at the Detention Facility, Brockwell asked the jail to check Williams for warrants through Roane County.

It was revealed that Roane County had an active warrant on Williams for a Violation of Probation.

Williams was charged with assisting other agency, driving on a revoked driver’s license and was held on $1,500 bond.

HOMELESS MAN NOW FACING SEVERAL DRUG CHARGES

A Homeless man from Loudon County now faces several charges after reportedly acting strangely around law enforcement officers during a break-in response.

On Friday, June 21, at approximately 1:53 a.m Deputy Ethan Owens with the Loudon County Sheriff ’s Office was dispatched to 22157 Steekee Road in reference to a break-in in progress.

Upon arrival, there was a vehicle attempting to leave the driveway and contact was made with a homeless 47-year-old Ronnie Moser. According to the report, he was then detained due to the nature of the call.

The report stated that Moser was acting very strange while communicating with deputies so his information was gathered and he was checked for warrants through dispatch.

After investigating, it was determined that there was no burglary that had occurred as Moser had permission to be on the property. After checking Moser for warrants, it was confirmed through dispatch that he had an active warrant out in Loudon County for a violation of probation on an original charge of aggravated burglary.

Moser was then placed under arrest, searched and placed in the back of the cruiser. While en route to the jail, Deputy Lane observed Moser to be attempting to shove something into his mouth so they pulled over to see what Moser had in his hand.

Upon further investigation, it was revealed that Moser had a clear baggie with six pills in it.

Moser explained that he had the pills inside of his boot and admitted to having five pills of Hydrocodone and one Oxycodone. It was later confirmed that the pills were indeed what he told law enforcement.

After confiscating the pills, Moser was then searched again and continued the transport to the Loudon County Jail without further incident. The pills were entered into evidence at the Loudon County Sheriff ’s Office.

Moser was charged with simple possession/ casual exchange, tampering/ fabricating with evidence, violation of probation and was held on $7,500 bond.
