Loudon couple arrested after burglary

Two Loudon residents are facing burglary and drug charges after law enforcement officers were called to a Ritchie Road home.

Officers learned Joey Franklin Ferrell and Kathy Dianne Harold were in the homeowner’s driveway before driving off in a tan Toyota Camry. The homeowner reported items missing from the house.

Loudon Police Sgt. Scott Newman conducted a traffic stop on Riverbend Drive. Loudon County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Cody Fritts arrived on scene and asked Ferrell if there was anything illegal in the vehicle. Ferrell claimed he had a rig and pipe in the glove box.

“Upon searching the vehicle in the driver’s seat in a pink and white change purse was a baggy of crystal meth (.19 grams),” Fritts wrote in the report. “Found in Ms. Harold’s purse was another baggy of crystal meth (.4 grams), cut straw, baggies and a glass meth pipe. Found in the glove box in a tin can was a syringe, marijuana pipe, meth pipe and baggies.”

Both were taken into custody.

The homeowner identified personal belongings found in the Camry trunk.
