Loudon Annexation 9
Looks like the owner of the property on Dry Valley
Road is coming back again to try to have his property annexed into the
city and rezoned to M-1 Industrial in the middle of a rural agricultural
community.
Previously, the community responded with total opposition to the plan. The county commission also sent a letter to Loudon officials opposing the annexation and rezone due to it being an illegal annexation and an illegal rezone. This annexation and rezone first came to the Loudon Planning Commission back in October 2023. Ultimately, the planning commission denied the request. It was set to go before the Loudon City council two other times but was pulled both times. Even though the planning commission has already denied the requests previously, the owner developer apparently wants to try again. Ultimately, the city council has the final decision. Below is the planning commission application. City of Loudon Planning Application Details Planning Application #42 Description Proceeding with long planned annexation in conjunction with the 100,000 square foot spec warehouse and 155 acres on Elizabeth Lee Parkway started in the year 2000. Per our commitment in 2000, we would begin marketing the 176acres once the 155-acre parcel was developed or otherwise sold. The 155-acre parcel was sold to Monterey Mushroom, so we are now prepared to market the 176 acres.
