1970 Car Ad
| On this week's Looking Back segment, I'm going to
drop back a few years, back to 1970. This was the county's centennial
year. Aside from all the regular news of 1970, this issue includes a 108
page Centennial Special Edition put together jointly by the Loudon
County Herald and the Lenoir City News Banner. The Centennial
Edition contains an enormous amount of historical information about
everything Loudon County, the cities, schools, churches, etc. One of the
stories is a detailed report of the only legal hanging in Loudon County
that took place on the Courthouse grounds in 1883, Page A9. I went ahead and linked up the Centennial edition separately. Below are the links. |
