Local woman faces several drug charges

A Madisonville woman is facing 16 drug-related charges after a Loudon County Sheriff’s Office deputy pulled her over for not wearing her seat belt.

After stopping the vehicle traveling on Caldwell Road, LCSO Deputy Cody Fritts talked with Lesa Annette McCulloch, 54, Madisonville. In Fritts’ report, he notes he could smell marijuana coming from McCulloch. She had two capsules of gabapentin in “plain view in the middle console area,” according to the arrest report. A key chain had a red canister that was used to carry pills.

Found in McCulloch's purse were three glass pipes commonly used for smoking meth, a baggy of marijuana, 47 corner-cut baggies, four packs of rolling papers, three pill canisters, digital scales, a marijuana grinder, two cut straws, 17 1/2 gabapentin 600 mg, one gabapentin 800 mg, one hydrocodone 7.5 mg and a xanax 1 mg, Fritts wrote in his report.

The deputy also found brass knuckles in the driver side door of McCulloch’s vehicle. Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Paul Clendenen gave McCulloch a field sobriety test, and he determined she was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

McCulloch was taken to Fort Loudoun Medical Center. Clendenden later found marijuana and pills in the back seat of the patrol vehicle that belonged to McCulloch, according to the report.

McCulloch was charged with five counts of simple possession/casual exchange, two counts of possession of legend drugs, possession of prohibited weapons, five counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under the influence, tampering/fabricating with evidence and violation of implied consent and held without bond.
