Local man charged with
attempted murder
A
Lenoir City man was arrested in Georgia, extradited to
Loudon County and charged Feb. 13 with attempted murder
following a 2021 encounter with a woman.
On Oct. 19, 2021, Lenoir City Police officers responded to an address in Lenoir City in reference to an unconscious female. The woman was found on a sidewalk and unresponsive and had to be transported to University of Tennessee Medical Center. After regaining consciousness, the woman was interviewed by Sgt. Lynette Ladd. The woman said she, her 6-year old granddaughter and Tristan Matthew Anderson, 23, had been walking to her home when Anderson began to strangle her with a belt. She pleaded with him to stop, lost consciousness and fell to the ground.
According to
witnesses, Anderson continued to strangle the woman
until the witnesses confronted him and called 911.
Anderson then removed the belt from the womans neck,
took the keys to her vehicle and fled.
A warrant was issued for Andersons arrest. Lenoir City officers traveled Feb. 13 to Brooks County Jail in Quitman, Ga., to verify the identity of a man believed to be Anderson. Once confirmed, they took him into custody and transported him to Loudon County.
