Lenoir City man threatens group with gun

A Lenoir City man is facing assault charges after law enforcement learned he threatened five people with a firearm.
Responding to an assault on Watkins Road, several deputies from Loudon County Sheriff’s Office learned Christopher Shaun Collins had left the area.

Deputies spoke with five residents who said the incident started when one man told Collins to get his “aggressive” dog off his property. Collins became upset and backed his vehicle into the man’s driveway, yelling at him and others involved.

“At which point, Mr. Collins did retrieve a handgun and pointed it at the victims and said, ‘I will take care of all you ... right now’,” LCSO Inv. Sgt. Chris Bowen wrote in a report. “All parties involved said the gun was chrome or silver in color. … Prior to my arrival, officers discovered in a flower bed in front of the defendant’s residence a tan and silver air soft pistol.”

A child was in Collins’ vehicle during the incident.

Collins was later located on Maple Hill Road in Loudon, and he called someone to pick up the child.

“Mr. Collins did attempt to hide his vehicle under a tarp,” Bowen wrote in the report.

Collins, 42, was charged with five counts of assault and child abuse or neglect (if violent) and released on $12,000 bond.
