Lenoir City man flees scene on lawnmower

A Lenoir City man is facing charges after law enforcement responded to a call Friday of an unwanted guest at a residence.

Quentin Daniel Johnson, 23, tried to take belongings from a home Friday before attempting to make a getaway.

Loudon County Sheriff’s Office Inv. Chris Bowen and other LCSO deputies responded to the call. One of the occupants of the residence saw Johnson open a window and reach in to grab a pack of cigarettes. After being caught, Johnson entered the residence through the front door, Bowen wrote in a report.

Johnson took a Yamaha guitar, valued at less than $1,000, that belonged to a man at the residence, Bowen wrote in a report. Johnson then fled to a barn on the property where he intended to hide. The man found Johnson in the barn and recovered his stolen guitar.
“He left the property on his riding lawnmower returning to his residence ... where he was taken into custody by Deputies (Kevin) Kirkland and (Jamie) Ketner,” Bowen wrote in a report. “Deputy Ketner did locate 2.5 small white round pills, identified by Deputy Ketner as 2mg Clonzepam, in the pocket of Johnson, who was in possession of the pills without a prescription.”
Johnson was charged with aggravated burglary, theft of property and simple possession/casual exchange and released on $13,000 bond.
Pill found during search
Lenoir City Police Officer Jordan Samuels arrested Michael Christopher Taylor, 31, Lenoir City, for domestic assault Saturday.
In a woman’s statement, she wrote Taylor had shouted multiple obscenities and threats at her before pulling her by the hair and biting her ear. She said she was afraid of Taylor since this wasn’t the first time this had happened.
After being transported to Loudon County Jail, Taylor was asked by LCSO Deputy Blake Gentry if he had any illegal contraband and he replied he did not.
“While conducting a strip search on Michael per jail policy, Deputy Gentry observed a clear, plastic-like material containing one half of an unknown orange pill between Michael’s buttocks,” a report said. “Deputy Gentry asked what the pill was and Michael stated that it was one half of a (suboxone) pill that he is medically prescribed.”
The pill was determined to be a Schedule III narcotic.
Taylor was charged with domestic assault-misdemeanor and contraband in a penal institution and released on $2,000 bond.
