News Herald Arrest Report

Lenoir City man charged with assault

Responding to the intersection of Miller and Beals Chapel roads Sunday for an incident between a couple, Loudon County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Thomas Spradlin met a woman who claimed she awoke in the vehicle and Christopher Allen Johnson was “acting sketchy and paranoid.” Johnson told the woman he wanted to go to the store for food, but she didn’t. Johnson also said he wanted to go to a friend’s house, but she simply wanted to put up the food.

“The victim stated that the offender got mad, parked the car and got out,” Spradlin wrote in a report. “The offender started throwing the food out of the vehicle. The victim stated that the offender then started choking her. The victim stated further that the offender punched her in the mouth, and cut her with a knife.”

Spradlin noticed the woman’s swollen mouth with blood dried on her lips. A laceration on her right arm was also visible. On the victim’s back was a small puncture wound, and she gave an accurate description of the knife.

“The victim stated that the offender cut her airway off while he was choking her,” Spradlin wrote in a report.

Medical attention was offered, but the woman refused help and said she would go to the hospital later. Deputies went to the residence of Johnson’s friend and arrested Johnson. A pocket knife matching the description given by the woman was found on Johnson. Johnson, 39, Lenoir City, was charged with aggravated assault and held on $15,000 bond.
