News Herald Arrest Report
Lenoir City man caught with no license, fake identity A recently apprehended man from Lenoir City reportedly had his car searched — leading law enforcement to find a fraudulent license and Social Security card. On Thursday, July 18, at around 2:01 p.m., Cpl. Jonathan Sartin with the Loudon County Sheriff ’s Office observed a maroon Mazda traveling on Loudon Ridge that was seen crossing over the center line multiple times. Sartin attempted a traffic stop at Loudon Ridge and Snodderly Drive, but the vehicle continued driving at around 25 mph and turned on to Sugarlimb Road The vehicle continued moving until Deputy Bowen was able to block the automobile’s driver at the Juvenile Center — where the driver stopped. Sartin asked a deputy from the Loudon County Jail to come out to translate and the law enforcement officers identified the suspect as 32-year-old Elder Antonio Garcia Perez of Lenoir City. The driver had no driver’s license. According to the report obtained by The News-Herald, Sartin then had investigators inspect Perez’ vehicle with a police dog while talking to Perez. One or more K-9 officers then alerted deputies about something in the vehicle. When Perez was asked if anything illegal was in the stopped vehicle, he stated “no.” A search of the vehicle was then conducted, which led to deputies reportedly finding a fake California driver’s license with Perez’ picture and the name “Jason Eric Dingess.” There was also a fake Social Security card for Jason Eric Dingess. After checking the Social Security number through the Tennessee Criminal Justice Portal, it was found that it didn’t match Perez but did belong to an individual who matched the name Jason Eric Dingess. The California ID number was checked through dispatch and was found to belong to Sandra Villarreal out of Bakersfield, Calif. Perez was then taken into custody. He was charged with identity theft and license required — and was released on $6,000 bond. LENOIR CITY MAN CHARGED WITH DUI Another Lenoir City man faces a DUI charge … after getting into a traffic accident with a police cruiser. On Thursday, July 18, at approximately 1:46 a.m, Deputy Charles Watson with the Loudon County Sheriff ’s Office responded to 204 E. First Avenue in reference to a traffic accident that involved a Lenoir City police vehicle. Watson made contact with 66-year-old Gayle Green of Lenoir City in front of the residence. Green had already been removed from his vehicle by a Lenoir City police officer and appeared to be extremely unsteady on his feet while Officer Parmer conducted field sobriety tests. According to the report, Green agreed to do ARIDE (Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement) testing — and reportedly performed poorly. Green told law enforcement officers that he takes Ambien, a prescription sleep medicine — adding that he last took the Ambien at approximately 8 p.m. July 17. Green stated that he was on his way to work and that he was scheduled to clock in at 7 a.m. Officers with the Lenoir City Police Department made contact with Green’s wife who reportedly told officers that her husband often takes more Ambien than he is prescribed. Green’s prescription bottle was last filled on July 10 and was reportedly already empty. Green was transported by EMS to the Fort Loudoun Medical Center for a medical evaluation and was read implied consent and agreed to provide a blood sample for chemical testing.
