Lenoir City man caught with meth
A Lenoir City man is facing multiple drug charges after law
enforcement pulled him over for prior knowledge of his license being
revoked.
Loudon County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Cody Fritts on Friday observed
Christopher Allen Johnson travel down Broadway near A street without
his seat belt on, park his car and go into a business. After he
left, he was stopped by law enforcement.
Fritts observed Johnson had “restricted pupils.” Fritts asked
Johnson if he had anything illegal on him or in the vehicle, and he
began crying. Johnson said he had methamphetamine in his left
pocket.
“Found in Johnson’s left front shorts pocket were three bags of
methamphetamine weighing approximately 45 grams and two bags
containing approximately 2 grams of marijuana,” Fritts wrote in
a report. “Found in the trunk were digital scales that Johnson
stated were his.”
Johnson was transported to the Loudon County Justice Center.
Johnson later told officers he had been traveling to Knoxville
every day for at least two weeks to get meth. He admitted to
selling meth to multiple people in Lenoir City. The traffic stop
occurred near two protected drug-free zones — Lenoir City Public
Library and the Loudon County Boys & Girls Club.
Johnson, 39, Lenoir City, was charged with manufacture,
delivery, sale or possession of a Schedule II substance, simple
possession/casual exchange, possession of drug paraphernalia and
driving on a revoked/suspended license and held without bond.
Man arrested after ‘a few’ beers
A Lenoir City man has been charged with driving under the
influence and driving on a revoked/suspended license after
swerving across a roadway.
On June 30, Lenoir City Police Officer Caleb Green observed a
silver Honda swerve several times on Harrison Road and he
initiated a traffic stop on Browder Hollow Road at Foster Road.
The driver failed to stop until he arrived at the 900 block of
Foster Road.
While taking the driver, Abiel Cardeans Matias, to the patrol
car, Green noticed a strong alcoholic odor.
“Mr. Matias did state he consumed ‘a few’ Michelob Ultras but
did not know they were alcoholic beverages,” Green wrote in a
report.
Matias was transported to Loudon County Jail, where he agreed to
perform standard field sobriety testing. Matias performed poorly
on the tests.
Matias, 38, was charged with driving under the influence and
driving on revoked/suspended license and held on $2,500 bond.

June 27
• Adam Keith Winters, 45, Loudon, was charged with domestic
assault-misdemeanor and held without bond. Loudon County
Sheriff’s Office Deputies T.J. Scarbrough and Chris Hutchens
were dispatched to a domestic disturbance. Dispatch warned that
Winters had come home drunk and hit a vehicle and pushed it into
the support wall of the garage. Winters went into the residence
and began cursing and telling a woman he was going to kill her.
The woman told dispatch she was able to grab a kitchen knife and
told Winters to “back off,” Scarbrough wrote in a report. She
retreated to the bedroom, locked the door and called 911. As
Scarbrough and Hutchens arrived, they found Winters “highly
intoxicated.” The woman said Winters was “irate” because a store
refused to sell him beer. Winters later told the woman it was
her fault.
June 28
• Angelina Rose Noce, 38, Kingston, was charged with simple
possession/casual exchange and held without bond.
• Noe Bravo, 33, Loudon, was charged with driving under the
influence and released without bond.
June 29
• Ryan Staryling Barr, 20, Philadelphia, was charged with
two counts of simple possession/casual exchange and held on
$10,000 bond. LCSO Deputy Austin Parton observed a black
Chevy S-10 on Spring Street with the driver not wearing his
seat belt. The car also did not have a working passenger
side brake light, according to Parton’s report. After
stopping the vehicle, Barr said his seat belt was under his
arm. Parton asked Barr to identify why Parton could smell an
odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Barr explained
that he “had some on him” and removed a bag from his pants.
Parton searched the vehicle and recovered a cigar pack with
green leafy substance inside, believed to be marijuana, and
14 Dank Tanks. “The Dank Tank package stated that they
contained 93.43 percent THC,” Parton wrote in a report.
Parton then weighed the two bags of green leafy substance
believed to be marijuana that came in at 20.39 grams. Barr
said the substance belonged to him.

$2,500 bond.
June 30
• Tommy Ray Barron, 22, Athens, was charged with driving
under the influence and released on $2,000 bond. Lenoir City
Police Officer Caleb Green was dispatched to a possible
wreck with injury at the intersection of U.S. Highways 321
and 11. Green found a blue Audi that had wrecked into a
concrete barrier on the side of Hwy. 321. The driver,
identified as Barron, said he lost control. Green observed
Barron was “unsteady on his feet, had bloodshot, watery
eyes, had an odor consistent with that of an alcoholic
beverage coming from his person and slurred speech.” While
Barron was being evaluated by EMS, Green observed several
open, empty beer cans in the passenger side floorboard.
After being cleared by EMS, Barron was asked to perform
standard field sobriety testing. Green reported that Barron
“agreed, but he stated that he would fail.” Barron performed
poorly on the sobriety tests. Green then took Barron into
custody and transported him to Loudon County Jail. After
agreeing to provide a breath sample for chemical testing,
Barron was charged with driving under the influence.
• Richard Lee Freeman, 34, Madisonville, was charged with
leaving the scene of an accident with property damage and
held on $10,000 bond. Freeman struck a vehicle traveling
west on Old Highway 95, causing the victim’s vehicle to
enter east bound traffic and collide head-on with a white
Dodge Ram truck, which resulted in severe injuries to both
drivers, according to Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Rick
Ray. Freeman did not stop to give aid or report the crash to
authorities. Freeman was later stopped by Vonore City Police
on U.S. Highway 411. Freeman admitted driving the vehicle
and leaving the scene of the wreck.

simple possession/casual exchange and held on $2,000 bond.

attachment and released on $300 bond.
Murder suspect has preliminary hearing
“Once he is indicted, then it will go to
a status date, then a plea or set for trial date,”
Johnson said in an email correspondence. “If not pled,
then it will be set for trial.”
The Loudon man was arrested Feb. 11 in
connection with a shooting death in Lenoir City. He was
found in Knox County after fleeing the scene of the
shooting at 165 Lee Hi St., Lenoir City, in a stolen
vehicle and in possession of a stolen shotgun.
Loudon County Sheriff’s Office deputies
responded to the scene after a call of “shots fired”
when they found a man, identified as Dakota Marshall
Willard, 23, dead from two gunshot wounds — one to the
back of the head and another to the chest.
A witness, who also lived at the
address, was forced to go into a bedroom and close
his eyes and he then heard two gunshots, according
to a report from LCSO Lt. Patrick Upton.
“When he opened his eyes he found
Dakota Willard was on the couch and had been shot,”
Upton wrote in the report. “He had waited (until) he
heard the vehicle drove off and then got up and went
to (a) nearby family member and 911 was called.”
Johnson said two witnesses testified
for the state during the preliminary hearing,
including Miles’ brother, who claimed Miles took the
shotgun and vehicle without his permission to drive
to the murder scene.
Johnson said Jed Bassett, assistant
district attorney, is handling the hearing for
Johnson’s office. Attorney Harold Balcom is
representing Miles.
