Knox man faces local DUI charge, two counts of contributing to delinquency of a minor

A Knoxville man traveling through Loudon County faces several charges including driving under the influence and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

On Monday, July 1, at approximately 11:25 p.m, Deputy Robert Brockwell with the Loudon County Sheriff ’s Office was advised by dispatch that the Loudon City Police Department was looking for the driver of an older model blue Ford F150 for questioning in regards to an incident that occurred at a gas station located on 409 Highway 11 East.

Brockwell observed the described vehicle take a left onto Sugar Limb Road from Highway 11 and then initiated a traffic stop on Sugar Limb Road just before Hotchkiss Valley Road West.

According to the report, Deputy Brockwell then made contact with the driver who was identified as 25-year-old Michael Cope of Knoxville and explained why he was stopping him.

Cope was reportedly slurring his words and had very glossy eyes, so the deputy gathered his information and ran the detained driver through dispatch. A Loudon city officer arrived at the scene and stated that the city police were at a local gas station dealing with two intoxicated female juveniles.

According to the arrest report, the two juvenile females stated that a blue Ford F150 dropped them off and that they had been drinking. Brockwell then asked Cope if he had consumed any alcoholic beverages, and he reportedly told the deputy that he hadn’t been drinking.

Brockwell asked Cope to step out of his vehicle and asked if he would be okay with performing a few tests to ensure he could safely operate his vehicle on the roadway. Cope stated that he was willing to perform the requested test(s).

Based on the totality of the circumstances and a poor test performance, Brockwelll indicated that Cope was under the influence of a drug or intoxicant that impaired his ability to operate a motor vehicle on a public roadway safely. He then placed Cope under arrest for driving under the influence.

Cope was charged with two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and driving under the influence and was held on $4,500 bond.

. Barbara Jean Merritt, 50, Knoxville, was charged with two counts of capias-criminal court and held on $40,000 bond.

. Charles Baxter Padgett, 62, Knoxville, was charged with capias-municipal court and released on $282.25 bond.

. Robert Tristan Taylor, 55, Lenoir City, was charged with domestic assault, resisting arrest and held without bond.

. Freddie Freeman Vann, 26, Williamston, was charged with arrest warrant- assist other agency and released without bond.

JULY 2

. Fleisha Eskivonne Burchfield, 38, Lenoir City, was charged with capias-general sessions and released on $20,000 bond.

. Michael Coy Cope, 25, Knoxville, was charged with contributing to a minor, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, driving under the influence and held on $4500 bond.

. William Elia Smallen, 34, Lenoir City, was charged with public intoxication, simple possession/casual exchange and released on $2000 bond.

. Maston Robert West, 43, Greenback, was charged with violation of probation and released on $15,000 bond.

JULY 3

. Juan Carlos Cabrera-Guzman, 32, Antioch, was charged with driving under the influence, license required and released on $3000 bond.

. Tommy Ray Gass, 55, Greenback, was charged with driving under the influence, expiration of certificates and plates, possession of a handgun while under the influence, violation of implied consent and released on $2000 bond.

. Santiago Sanchez Gomez, 22, Knoxville, was charged with and released with license required, reckless driving and released on $2000 bond.

. Ruby Ann Huskins, 50, Sweetwater, was charged with two counts of failure to appear general sessions and held without bond.

. Tommy Earl Mayo, 32, Laurel, Mich., was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a handgun while under the influence, public intoxication and released on $5000 bond.

. Gregory Scott Nelson, 31, Sweetwater, was charged with violation of probation and released on $1000 bond.

. Gregory Duane Nutter, 42, Corryton, was charged with violation of probation and held without bond.

. Angela Anne Tite, 32, Madisonville, was charged with capias-criminal court, violation of probation and held on $10,000 bond.

. Michelle Deanna Zell, 37, Homeless, was charged with display of registration plate, driving on roadways laned for traffic, driving on suspended license, evading arrest, financial responsibility law, possession of drug paraphernalia, four counts of reckless endangerment and held on $28,500 bond.

. Kenni Dewayne Jones, 34, Knoxville, was charge with theft of property, convicted felon in possession of firearm, driving on revoked/ suspended license, possession of a handgun while under the influence, simple possession/ casual exchange and released on $29,000 bond.

. Keith Michael Monahan, 44, Knoxville, was charged with display of registration plate, driving on revoked license, financial responsibility law, speed limit and released on $2500 bond.

. Michael Jesse Jackson, 41, Athens, was charged with driving under the influence and released on $3000 bond.

. David Austin McAlister, 47, Luray, Va., was charged with mfg., delivery, sale or possession of meth and held on $15,000 bond.

. Kristin Suzanne Schaller, 44, Lenoir City, was charged with convicted serving time and held without bond.

. Donnita Rena Ward, 49, Lenoir City, was charged with two counts of theft of property and held without bond.
