Knox BOH Update
Apparently, the Knox County Board Of Health had a
change of heart about their plans to overthrow surrounding counties. At
last Monday's meeting, the agenda item to discuss asking the governor to
extend their powers, was pulled from the agenda. Guess they had a lot of
feed back from all the peasant counties.
I tried to watch their zoom meeting but to be honest, I couldn't stomach listening to them. Never have I heard such a group of arrogant, condescending people, Mayor Jacobs excluded. How on earth do people like get appointed to such a powerful board. I think Knox County will be voting tonight to hopefully take their power away. They sure better. Given their quest for power, and Loudon County's objection to being governed by any Knox County body, Loudon County Commission will be discussing passing a resolution to send to Knox County and Governor Lee opposing any attempt by any foreign government to take over any part of Loudon County's governance. Thanks, but we don't need the BOH help. Below are just a couple of responses from the BOH to my Open Letter I received through others.
Dear Mr. Shaver-
Thank you for sharing your concerns. Please bear in mind that just because one BoH member proposes something to discuss/vote on does not automatically mean all of us are for it. We are not allowed to speak to one another at any time in between our recorded meetings, and so we learn of what is on the agenda at the same time you the public do. Thank you for your consideration. May you and your family stay safe and well.
Sincerely,
Maria Hurt
Thank you David! You may let
Commissioner Shaver know that I intend to keep my masked nose out of
Loudon County.
Sincerely,
Ani Roma, M.Ed. Citizen Representative Knox County Board of Health |
