Kenny Beat Scotty
With so few contested races on the ballot, some contests were just
to see who would get more votes in uncontested races.
While Kenny Ridings and Scott Newman were both up for re-election in the 1st district school board race, they were not running against each other and were both running unopposed. Ridings holds seat "A" and Newman holds seat "B". So the race there was to see who would get more votes. Well, Kenny beat Scotty. Ridings got 322 votes to Newman's 310. That makes Kenny more popular with the voters than Scotty. Unfortunately for both veteran, incumbent school board members, new comer and just elected 5th district school board member, Brian Brown pointed out to his fellow board members that he (Brown) actually got more votes than either one of them. Brown's uncontested vote total came in at 489. Kind of took the wind out of the Loudon boys sails.
Brian Brown's Facebook post,
I want to thank each and every person in the 5th District that came out and cast their vote of confidence for me!! I am honored to have received the most votes out of all the school board races county wide. I look forward to being a voice for all the kids and serving these next four years!! Thank You!!
