Kennedy's A NO
Kennedy Keeps His Word

True to his word, Lenoir City councilman, Todd Kennedy, cast two more "NO" votes, at the last city council meeting, on high density development. Several months ago, Kennedy stated in a council meeting that he would not vote for any more R-3 rezones until the city takes a serious review of their zoning policies to determine if their current policies are appropriate for the city. Sadly, no other council members have joined Kennedy in opposition to high density development. In fact, mayor Aikens and the rest of the council have continued to approve anything and everything everywhere. They just can't seem to comprehend or just simply don't care what they're doing to the city.

It's pathetic that all the rest of the council, and the mayor, will not take any action to change the policies that most all Lenoir City residents are so opposed to. Just imagine if the city had three more council members like Kennedy that would stand against Aikens disastrous development policies. That opportunity is coming.

In November of this year, three council seats, the mayor's seat and the treasurer recorder's seat will be on the ballot. City voters will have the opportunity to stop what Tony Aikens has set in motion in the city. Council members, Mike Henline, Jennifer Wampler and Eddie Simpson's seats will be on the ballot. These three council members are Aikens most ardent and loyal supporters and will do whatever the mayor tells them to do, without any question. Not a one of them has ever cast a NO vote on anything Aikens has ever put on the agenda.

All three have voted for every mass development in the city. All three voted for Aikens 1000% salary increase. All three have voted for a gas tax increase, two sales tax increases, the Rain Tax, and the most recent property tax increase. There's absolutely no reason to believe, that if re-elected, they won't continue their, tax them to death, policies along with their crushing residential development policies. If Aikens and these council members were to be re-elected, Lenoir City is literally doomed.

These four gotta go.

Nothing will ever change in Lenoir City until something changes in Lenoir City.
