Just 4 Years
| Recently, Sarah and I were just out visiting local
landmarks. At one point, we were at Melton Hill Dam. It's actually a
beautiful place. We went up to the overlook where there are several
markers with information about the dam. Above is one of those markers
with the history of the dam.
What jumped out at me was that the construction of the dam was begun and completed in four years. The rebuilding of the Loudon County Courthouse began shortly after the fire in April 2019. The repairs are now coming up on 5 and a half years and still a long way from being done. I don't know, I guess they just had better technology and equipment back in 1960. |
