Jail Addition Open
| The new 17.5 million dollar Loudon County jail is now
open to customers. The addition was originally slated to open back in
March. The new facility will nearly triple the current bed space of the old jail to around 270. It will also greatly enhance the safety and security of the officers working in the jail as as the prisoners. County commission was able to build the new addition and fully staff it without any increase in property tax. While COVID prevented an actual open house of the new jail for the public, you can take a virtual tour at the link below. |
