I really hate to keep bringing this one up, but I don't know what else to do.

Back in October 2023, Pat Hunter, posted on her Nextdoor account that the road to the proposed new school had been "axed", her words. She knew then and certainly knows now that that's not true. At last month's budget meeting, Ms. Hunter was in attendance. Also in attendance was a representative from COPE Associates to give an update on the proposed schools building program. The architect was sitting directly behind Ms. Hunter. I asked him specifically if the new road was still in the plans, he said absolutely. I asked him had the new road always been in the plans, he said absolutely. I asked him if there was any plans to eliminate the new road. He said absolutely not.

The gentleman speaking was sitting not three feet behind Ms. Hunter. There's no way she couldn't hear him. She was also recording the meeting on her camera so she could go back and listen to him over and over is she wanted to.

But guess what, to this day, six months later, Ms. Hunter still hasn't gone back to her Nextdoor account to tell her four or five readers that she had misled them and totally made up the story about the road being "axed". So, given these facts why would anybody ever again listen to or believe anything Pat Hunter would ever say?

Again, let this be a lesson to everyone, just because someone says something on social  media doesn't make it true.

Back in October, self proclaimed "government watchdog" Pat Hunter, took to social media to proclaim that there would be no road from Hwy. 11 to the new school, if it's built. Ms. Hunter knew and knows full well this is not true. I have repeatedly asked her to correct her erroneous statements. Thus far, she has refused to correct her post.

At the last county commission meeting, I asked Ms. Hunter again to please correct her social media statement. She still hasn't corrected it.

Let this be a lesson to everyone, just because someone says something on social  media doesn't make it true. Case in point.

Back on October 6th, local self appointed community watchdog, Pat Hunter, posted on social media that the entry road from Hwy. 11 to the new county high school had been axed. Of course, she knew that was not the truth.

I brought it to her attention, back then, that she was very wrong about the road and she should correct her erroneous statement. Since then, I have asked her repeatedly to correct the misinformation she had put out. To this day, Ms. Hunter has still not corrected her post. It's still out there on social media for all to see. And she knows how wrong she was. One responder on her social media post even said that "she and her church believe what Pat was saying. So apparently, Ms. Hunter is misleading a whole church congregation along to how knows how many other people.

Ms. Hunter's actions show just how irresponsible she and others like her are who will post to social media statements they know to be false. Hunter wasn't just giving her opinion but claimed to be stating FACTS. Maybe county school officials should send her a letter demanding she make a truthful correction to her October 6th post.

The idea of the county building a new school is controversial on it's own, but to have someone like Ms. Hunter making blatant, false statements about the process is so irresponsible.

As I've asked several times now and will ask again, Ms. Hunter, please correct your erroneous post on the Nextdoor platform posted on October 6th 2023. There may still be people who believe what you said.

Just wanted to do another follow up on my social media experiment from a couple weeks ago. The string of posts below, from Nextdoor message board, is perfect example of why you cannot believe everything you read on social media and, for sure some people.

Ms. Pat Hunter, who is a self described government "Watchdog" took the social media platform, apparently to mislead people on a pretty big topic, the potential new school on the upper end of the county. According to Hunter, the new road to the school from Hwy. 11 has been "AXED". She said she knew it to be true because she was at the meeting when the new plans were presented. The rendering above is what was presented at the school board meeting she refers to. Clearly, the new proposed road runs from Hwy. 11 to Simpson Road. That's been in the plans from the very first discussions.

Even after I told her repeatedly she was wrong, she refused to correct her erroneous posts and just went silent. Ms. Hunter seems to have an agenda and appears to use any methods to push that agenda. She has no credibility left.

Please follow the string below and please be careful taking for fact what somebody posts as truth.

Has $2M Road been AXED? At yesterday's BOE school board meeting, the architect gave a brief update to the proposed new middle - high school in the North end of the county. At previous meetings, we were led to believe the new access road would be off Highway 11. Well guess again; the new proposed access road on the drawing board will be located on Simpson Road, not Highway 11!

Correction for all. Ms. Hunter is wrong. The access road for the new school, if it's built, will run from Hwy. 11 to Simpson Road making two points of access. That's been in the plans from the beginning.

A reporter was present so I hope this important information is printed in the paper. Moreover, why didn't commission ask about the proposed access road before commission's vote on the issuance of $3 MILLION for schematic, design development and construction documents? I asked the architect after the meeting if I understood him correctly to say if the access road would be on Simpson Road and he re-affirmed! I was astonished to say the least because this was the FIRST I heard about this at a public meeting!

Everyone involved has known of the road from Hwy. 11 to Simpson Road from the beginning. That road is still in the plans according to school administrators. You might want to check with them.

Commissioner Shaver, I just went back to review the video recording, and the architect said the access/entrance will be on Simpson Road. I video recorded both workshop and board meetings. Thats why I spoke with the architect after the meeting to request he clarify what he said Simpson Road. Please look at TV-3 for your self. I was very surprised!

Commissioner Shaver. Listening is a virtue and I will say this for the last time. The school administrators did not make the presentation. The presentation was made by the architect. An we, taxpayers are paying lots of taxpayer money to the tune of $3 Million dollars to receive information from the professionals. Too bad no one from county commission was present to hear the architect. His presentation was vey informative.

I attended the BOE workshop and board meeting because I wanted to learn the FACTS, firsthand. The access road issue must be addressed immediately while it is in the schematic phase. The school director said the drawings are subject to change so if any changes are to be made, the schematic phase is the place to do it... I am not going to get into a war of words with commissioner Shaver. My concern is that this matter be addressed now before any more taxpayer money is spent. The TV-3 BOE board meeting is located on the Loudon County government TN website, look under the tab live streaming. Then go to TV-3.

Please explain your 2 + 2 statement. I say again, the access road will run from Hwy. 11 to Simpson Road. That was in the very first plan and is still in the plan today. Why would you come on here and tell people something you know is patently false? You know the road is there.

All the LCSB meetings I attended showed no proclivity towards fiscal responsibility& accountability, just like county commission and most other parts of county government! Hard working taxpayers are their piggybanks.

From today's News Herald: "The new facility on the north end of the county would be a middle and high school with capacity for 1,500 students. The board purchased land earlier this year between Highway 11 and Simpson Road for $1.83 million from First Baptist Church in Lenoir City. Entrances from both roads allow for a good flow of traffic." Pat, You need to make the correction to your post here.

Pat Hunter, please come forward and share the truth about the Hwy 11 road to the school with the same enthusiasm you had when you told everybody it had been axed. You owe that much to the readers.
