It's Gone
| The big tree on Simpson Road behind Home Depot is
gone.
Below is a story a reader sent me from his childhood. I knew the Big Oak Tree (BOT) when it was a young tree of 60 to 65 years of age.
The only time I ran away from home was to the
BOT. After 30 or so min. I got hungry and went back home.
Back in the day people would stop at the BOT and
partake of adult beverages. Simpson road was a gavel road that
had very little traffic.
The BOT was a cool hangout to a bunch of 10 to 13
year old kids.
The BOT will be missed :(.......
