Also, in their next year capitol projects plan are another $5,000,000.00 in additional classrooms. This is bad and going to get worse. Of course the need for all this additional classroom space is a direct result of Lenoir City mayor/council's unchecked, out of control development. The county schools will also be negatively impacted. 

No question Lenoir City mayor/council's intent is to destroy Lenoir City as we know it and given the majority of Lenoir City voters keep electing the same people who want to destroy their city, then that must be what they want. The problem is, the damage can't be contained within the city limits.

Lenoir City's planning and zoning regulations are a disaster by any measure. They're like a cancer eating away at the very fabric of the city. The bad news is, the cancer has metastasized into the county in many places. Not a week goes by that I don't receive a call or email from a county resident who is being negatively impacted by Lenoir City policies. This is especially true out along Hwy. 321 in the fifth district where the city continues to annex more and more property. Of course, developers want to be in the city because they know there are no limits on what and how much they can build.

It is sad that a group of elected officials could allow their community to be destroyed for the sake of money. But it's even worse when these same elected officials are causing so much damage outside their jurisdiction.

It's going to get a lot worse.
