I'm Subpoenaed?
Here's one I can't explain, I have been subpoenaed to
give a deposition in the case of the Jennifer Carol Brewster v Kenneth
Nathaniel Brewster divorce suit. I can not imagine anything I could possibly bring to that case. I don't personally know either party in the divorce. Don't think I've ever talked to the Miss and maybe talked to the Mr. once or twice. I was served the subpoena last Tuesday, 9/26. The subpoena says I have 21 days to make any objections to the subpoena. But I got it on 9/26 and the date requested was 10/4. That's just 9 days, so how does the 21 day time period work? Here's my problem. I have a medical appointment on the same day and time as I'm suppose to be deposed. This appointment has been scheduled for a long time and I'm not going to miss it. So I called the lawyer's office and spoke to a secretary who transferred me to the lawyer's voicemail where I explained my scheduling conflict. Never heard back from them. So I sent an email to the lawyer to explained my scheduling conflict. Never heard anything back. So Thursday I sent them an overnight, certified, signature required letter explaining my scheduling conflict. It was delivered to the lawyer's office at 10:41 am Friday, still haven't heard back from them. I've done all I can to contact them. I guess if they want to talk to me, they'll have to be at Park West hospital at 7:30 am Wednesday.
