Illegal Annexation 28
| On June 17th, the motion to dismiss the lawsuit for
the two illegal annexations by Lenoir City was heard. According to Judge
Mike Pemberton, at that hearing, he would make his ruling on the matter
by or before June 28th. Unfortunately, the judge hasn't handed down his
ruling yet. The case stems from two illegal annexations by the city. The county filed suit against the city back in February 2023. The city thereafter filed a motion to dismiss the case claiming the county had no standing to challenge the two illegal annexations. Hopefully, the judge will make his ruling soon. |
