KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- After initially being left off the list of counties receiving aid from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Loudon and Anderson Counties are now receiving help after devastating flooding.

"It's a huge relief to know FEMA is going to help these residents build back," said Marty Fugate, who lives in Loudon County.

About a month ago, people who live in Loudon wanted to know why they weren't on the list.

"I don't know how everyone around you can be declared FEMA, and you're in the middle of it and don't," said Amanda Bonar, who lives in Loudon County.

Now, the frustration becomes relief.

Anderson and Loudon Counties are now eligible to receive federal funding to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by flooding in February.

The counties join Blount, Campbell, Claiborne, Cocke, Fentress, Grainger, Hamblen, Hancock, Jefferson, Knox, Morgan, Rhea, Roane, Scott and Sevier in East Tennessee receiving aid from FEMA.

In a news release from FEMA, the counties listed could receive federal funding on a "cost-sharing basis for emergency work and the repair or replacement of facilities."
