Homeless man violates sex
registry
A
homeless man was arrested Friday after officers found him in
violation of the sex offender registry.
Lenoir City Police Officer Jamie Pistole was patrolling Lenoir City Park near midnight when he saw a white Ford Edge parked. He talked with the driver, Gregory Heath Engle, 33, and told him the park was closed, and that he shouldnt be there, according to a report. A female in the car with Engle was identified as a 17-year-old girl. The two work together at a fast food restaurant and had just finished their shifts. They have worked together for several months, Pistole wrote in a report.
Engle is a
registered sex offender and brought the girl to the
park, knowing she was 17, to a secluded area where they
would not be seen by the general public. Engle also
violated state law because he had the girl out past
curfew.
The girls mother picked up her daughter. Engle was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and establishing a residence where minors reside and held on $10,000 bond. Muddy man runs
A
Kingston man was arrested Saturday after running through
a graveyard and backyards covered in mud and later
resisting arrest.
Loudon County Sheriffs Office Deputy Cody Bengel responded to a church to investigate a man running through the graveyard and residential yards. The man was described as heavy set in in a long sleeve shirt, jeans with a leg cut off and covered in mud. About an hour and 30 minutes later, another caller described the same man in the area of Hill Top Drive, according to a report. Bengel located Felton Dwight Marchman, 37, on Martel Road. As Bengel approached in his patrol car, Marchman started crossing the street. Bengel rolled down his window to tell him to come back. Marchman ran beneath an underpass and into a yard. Bengel pursued Marchman on foot before taking him to the ground and placing him in custody. In the back of Bengels patrol car, Marchman began to violently ram his head into the partition, Bengel wrote in a report. Marchman said he has Hepatitis C and genital warts and hoped Bengel contracted both, according to the report. Marchman was charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct and released on $2,000 bond. Feb. 8
