Homeless man jailed for
marijuana, meth A homeless man is facing various drug charges after law enforcement found him in possession of several grams of marijuana and methamphetamine.
Loudon
County Sheriffs Office Deputy Mark Rodriguez conducted a
traffic stop April 13 on Highway 70 after he saw a black
Toyota Camry going 59 mph in a 45 mph zone.
Rodriguez met the driver, Travis Brent Smith, 41, who said
his license was revoked. While speaking with Smith,
Rodriguez could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming
from inside the vehicle. Smith told the deputy there was
marijuana inside the car.
Smith was charged with manufacture, sell, delivery or resale of a Schedule VI substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, manufacture, delivery, sale or possession of meth, driving on a revoked/suspended license and driving while in possession of meth and held on $29,000 bond. Man caught with meth
After seeing a maroon Chevrolet turn left Thursday onto
Highway 72 without proper registration lights, Loudon
Police Officer Christopher Law stopped Scott Allen Snow,
37, Friendsville.
Snow was arrested after his license came back revoked for failure to file. While searching inside the vehicle for towing purposes, Law saw a homemade tourniquet inside a computer case.
After further
investigation, I located 15 grams of a white
crystal-like substance inside a McDonalds bag, Law
wrote in a report.
Snow was charged
with possession of drug paraphernalia, manufacture,
delivery, sale or possession of meth, display of
registration plate and driving on a revoked/suspended
license and held without bond.

Anderson, 27, Ypsilanti, Mich., was charged with public
intoxication and released on $283 bond.
Mary Leatha
Brewster, 43, Loudon, was charged with juvenile court
attachment and released on $300 bond. Brewster was also
arrested April 13 and charged with two counts of theft
of property and forgery and released on $15,000 bond.
Jeremias Garcia,
26, Loudon, was charged with driving under the
influence, violation of implied consent, financial
responsibility law and driving without a valid license
and released on $2,000 bond.
Frederick Leon
Poffenberger, 56, Lenoir City, was charged with three
counts of illegal possession/fraudulent use of credit
card and released on $3,000 bond.
Brittney Carolyn
Van der Veen, 28, Knoxville, was charged with driving
under the influence, open container and driving on
roadways laned for traffic and released on $2,500 bond.
Bruce Lee
Willis, 35, Knoxville, was charged with capias-general
sessions and released without bond.

evading arrest and use of an off-road vehicle on the
highway and released on $8,500 bond.

Michael Bowman, 19, Loudon, was charged with simple
possession/casual exchange, possession of drug

possession of meth and held on $14,000 bond.

Brooks, 29, Sweetwater, was charged with simple

delivery, sale or possession of meth and misuse of
911 emergency system and released on $13,500 bond.

card, aggravated arson, resisting arrest, disorderly
