Help Wanted
Loudon
County Animal Shelter and Animal Control have immediate openings.
ACOs rotate between working in the shelter and working ACO enforcement. During the enforcement rotation, ACOs are on call and must be within 30 minutes of the Animal Control Truck to be able to respond. When not on the road, employees will work a regular day at the shelter and responsibilities include cleaning, intake, cleaning, adoptions, cleaning, feeding, cleaning, and watering. We are a 24/7 365 operation and some weekends and holidays are required. Starting pay is $16/hr and raises are built in with educational training. National Animal Control Association (NACA) Level I and Level II are $.65/hr for each level and State of Tennessee Euthanasia certification is $.70/hr for potential $18/hr wage not including annual cost of living adjustments. We are not a “no kill” shelter, but give all adoptable animals the best opportunity for adoption that our space allows. Full disclosure: this can be a dirty job, puppies poop, and cats can be messy too. The shelter is cleaned and animals are fed and watered every day of the year. We will train, but some computer skills are helpful. Applicants must be able to pass a background check and a drug screen as well as have a valid drivers license. We have excellent benefits including medical, dental, and vision and retirement is TCRS. Contact the mayor's office 865-458-4664 |
