Harriman woman swallows meth
A
Harriman woman was taken into custody March 9 on multiple
charges after being pulled over for heavily tinted windows.
Lenoir City Police Officer Riley Miller pulled over a black Kia off and met Chelsea Grace Bryant, 30, who appeared nervous and fidgety. Miller asked Bryant to step out of the car to speak, according to a report.
Miller
was informed Bryants drivers license was suspended earlier
this year for failure to appear out of Rockwood. Bryant also
told Miller she was on probation for a prior drug charge out
of Roane County.
Miller asked Bryant if there was anything illegal in the car. She told him she may have some needles and scales. Miller searched the car and found two digital scales with methamphetamine residue, several small baggies possibly used for the sale of drugs and a glass meth pipe, Miller wrote in a report.
After Loudon
County Sheriffs Office Deputy Amber Henry escorted
Bryant into jail upon arrival, she noticed Bryants
speech was muffled. Henry asked Bryant if she had
anything in her mouth. Bryant opened her mouth to reveal
a small plastic baggie, and she swallowed the baggie
after being instructed to spit it out.
Bryant told officers the bag had less than 0.5 grams of meth. She swallowed the baggie so it would not be evidence used against her, according to a report. Bryant was charged with having contraband in a penal institution, tampering/fabricating with evidence, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving on a revoked/suspended license and held on $23,000 bond. Man threatens woman with gunA Knoxville man was arrested Sunday after being seen holding a gun to a womans head in a restaurant parking lot. Lenoir City Police Officer Jordan Samuels responded to the restaurant after a bystander called 911. The complainant said she was walking to her car when she heard screaming coming from a black truck. She saw a man pull out a handgun and point it at a woman in the car, according to a report. Samuels spoke with the woman in the car who said she met Tracey Dewayne Flatford, 50, at the restaurant for lunch. Flatford asked the woman to sit in his car and talk. Flatford became erratic in his car, and he reached into his glovebox to retrieve a gun. He put the gun to his head and threatened to kill himself, she said. The woman tried to leave the car after Flatford pulled out the gun, but he reached over and slammed the passenger door shut when she opened it.
Samuel spoke
with Flatford who said he met the woman for drinks.
Flatford said the woman started an argument when
they got in the truck. He admitted to placing the
gun to his right temple but said when officers
arrived he placed the gun on the backseat, Samuels
wrote in a report.
Flatford said he and the woman had an on-and-off relationship for three years and had sexual relations. The woman said they were only friends. Flatford at the jail was determined to be under the influence. The woman did not show any signs of intoxication. Flatford was charged with aggravated assault, aggravated kidnapping, possession of a firearm during a dangerous felony and public intoxication and held without bond. March 8
