Gun used in Philadelphia domestic dispute

A Philadelphia man was charged with resisting arrest after a March 22 domestic dispute.

Dispatched to the 8000 block of Pond Creek Road in Philadelphia for a domestic assault involving a gun, Loudon County Sheriff's Office Deputy Kevin Dailey talked with the father of Joel Hamilton Lynn, 30, who was “distraught” due to a physical fight with Lynn. Lynn also fought his brother.

After detaining the father because he used a firearm, Dailey notes in his report he tried to talk with Lynn but was told by Lynn’s mother he had left into the woods and that he “possibly” had warrants for his arrest.

“After securing the scene, I spoke with (the mother) and (the brother) who stated Joel had just been dropped off and was wanting the keys to her car, however when Joel would not get out of the vehicle an argument ensued, which resulted in (the father) shooting a Ruger .22 revolver in the air,” Dailey wrote in his report. “Joel charged the father back into the house where they fought back down into the basement where Joel also began to attack his brother. (The father) did state Joel struck him multiple times and thinks he was hit with a hammer after Joel stated he was going to kill him and kill them all. Through the physical fight (the father) did fire multiple shots at Joel but did not know if he hit him.”

LCSO Deputy Chris Jenkins and Inv. Charles Cosner arrived on scene shortly thereafter. Dailey took statements from Lynn’s family. K9 tracking located Lynn close by the wooded area. Inside the house, Cosner found a black cellphone on the stairs, a black knife on the floor, a Ruger .22 in the master bedroom and Lynn’s pants that were stained with blood.

Lynn was transported to University of Tennessee Medical Center. No update was given on Lynn’s condition in the report.

Lynn was charged with failure to appear-general sessions, violation of probation and resisting arrest and held on $10,000 bond.
