Greenback woman arrested after stabbing

A Greenback woman is facing an aggravated assault charge after law enforcement responded to a call off Highway 95 North.
Dispatched Nov. 7 following a report that a man had been stabbed by a woman, Loudon County Sheriff’s Office deputies talked with a man who said he had been in an ongoing argument with Leslie W. Myers, 42, and she stabbed him while he was in bed.

Deputies upstairs located three children and Myers, who was pretending to be asleep. The man claimed he went to bed to end the argument and at some point Myers found a white hair and went to the bedroom to question his fidelity. Myers, who was upset, grabbed a knife from the kitchen and returned to the bedroom.

“Where the victim stated that he saw her raise the knife and started downward at his person,” LCSO Inv. Sgt. Chris Bowen wrote in a report, noting the man’s hand was cut when he tried to defend himself. “She then two more times did stab him in the back with the knife. Two visible wounds to the defendant’s back were witnessed with profuse bleeding.”

Bowen indicated in his report that Myers went to the kitchen, placed the knife in a dishwasher and tried wiping the blood from the floor. Blood-soaked paper towels were found in the trash can. A bed sheet was also wet. Myers drank half a pint of vodka at some point, Bowen wrote.

Myers, 42, Greenback, was charged with aggravated assault and released on $25,000 bond.
