Greenback Quarry 21

At last Tuesday's Greenback City council meeting, The council voted unanimously to appeal the judge's ruling that would allow mud man, Rodney Murphy, to continue his rock quarry operation inside the city limits.

From the city and county viewpoint, Murphy is operating the quarry illegally having failed to get the proper approvals from the board of zoning appeals.

Last month, chancellor, Tom McFarland, ruled that the quarry could operate due to the lack of certain documents the city could not find on the current zoning of the property. The city and BZA would maintain that they have proven the zoning of the property.

No date for the appeal court hearing has been set yet.
