Greenback man stabbed after road incident in Maryville
Micah L. Sherwood, 29, Alcove Boulevard, Greenback, was
taken by ambulance to the University of Tennessee Medical
Center with deep cuts on his left hand and right forearm and
has been discharged.
Sherwood said he was driving on Reagan Mill Road at about
3:15 p.m. Thursday when a red Chevrolet pickup truck came
around a turn in the wrong lane.
Once the truck passed his car, Sherwood said, the woman who was driving hit the brakes, stepped out of the vehicle and they had a brief verbal argument. Sherwood said he drove away and about 15 minutes later was sitting in his car in a driveway on Reagan Mill Road when the red truck drove up beside the car’s driver side, blocking him from exiting the vehicle. A man stepped out of the truck, brandished a long knife, then approached the car and began to stab him, Sherwood told deputies. When he grabbed the knife blade to prevent the stabbing, Sherwood said, the man punched him in the nose and fled in the truck. Deputies located the woman who owns the pickup truck at her residence on Reagan Mill Road, but a BCSO spokeswoman said the woman’s statement was unavailable. No one had been arrested by Friday afternoon. |
