Greenback Man Charged

thedailytimes.com-A Greenback man is in custody after an online tip led law enforcement to find sexually explicit material involving children on his devices. Joseph Worland Cooper, 30, Lamber Road, was arrested by Blount County Sheriff’s deputies at 12:13 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30.

He faces two charges of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor.

According to affidavits for his arrest filed by a detective with the Maryville Police Department the day of his arrest, Cooper was the subject of two tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s Internet Crimes Against Children task force. Further investigation allegedly revealed he had shared at least 25 “sexually explicit files of minors” in a private chat on the social media platform Kik.

Cooper, detectives said, operated with the username “justanotherpersono_ao9.” He was being held in lieu of bonds totaling $50,000 at the Blount County Correctional Facility and was awaiting a 9 a.m. Jan. 7 hearing in Blount County General Sessions Court.
