Greenback graduate Marcus Satterfield hired by South Carolina as offensive coordinator
knoxnews.com-New South Carolina football coach Shane Beamer has hired Marcus Satterfield as offensive coordinator.
Satterfield, 44, played at Greenback High School for his father Bill Satterfield.
Satterfield, who will also serve as quarterbacks coach, has spent the past three seasons working under Carolina Panthers coach Matt Rhule. Satterfield was director of recruiting under Rhule at Baylor in 2018 before becoming the Bears' tight ends coach the next season.
Satterfield spent this past season as the Panthers' assistant offensive line coach after Rhule jumped to the NFL.
A wide receiver and punter at East Tennessee State from 1995-98, Satterfield began his coaching career at Chattanooga in 1999, before leaving after three seasons to become a graduate assistant at Tennessee under Phillip Fulmer for two years.
Satterfield coached wide receivers at Richmond (2004) and Western Carolina (2005) before spending three years at UT Martin as offensive coordinator.
He returned to Chattanooga as offensive coordinator from 2009-12 before joining Rhule at Temple as offensive coordinator from 2013-15.
