"OPERATION LOCO" LEADS TO MULTIPLE
ARRESTS ON VARIOUS SEX OFFENDER REGISTRY VIOLATIONS
LOUDON COUNTY, TENNESSEE - Over
the last several days deputies from the Loudon County Sheriff's
Office along with officers and agents from the United States
Marshals Service Smokey Mountain Fugitive Task Force, Tennessee
Bureau of Investigation, Lenoir City Police Department, Loudon
Police Department, and the 9th Judicial Drug Task Force, teamed up
to conduct compliance checks on registered sex offenders within
Loudon County.
During these checks, deputies and agents verified information that is required to be disclosed for the Sex Offender Registry, also checking for other violations. Once "Operation LoCo" concluded, numerous violations were found on multiple offenders and they were taken into custody. A total of 38 contacts and compliance checks were made and 13 arrests for violating the Sex Offender Registry. Additional arrests were made to include non-registry violations for drug and weapon charges. “Several months ago we appointed Sergeant Detective Mills to oversee our Sex Offender Registry and oversee the compliance of sex offenders within Loudon County” said Sheriff Jimmy Davis. “I am very proud of the work that Detective Mills, and all agencies involved, have done to make this operation a success.” Sergeant Detective Skylar Mills was the case agent in charge of this operation and worked alongside the United States Marshals Service and Tennessee Bureau of Investigation to ensure this operation was a success. |
