MALE BARRICADES HIMSELF INTO HOUSE FOLLOWING ALTERCATION WITH SPOUSE

SWEETWATER, TN - Earlier today at approximately 12pm the Loudon County Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding a male who fired shots at his spouse and then barricaded himself into his house in the 200 block of Slab Town Road in rural Southern Loudon County.

The male was identified as James Wold. Wold had fired 2 shots at his spouse following a verbal argument. The spouse left the residence and Wold barricaded himself into the house following law enforcement arrival. LCSO deputies arrived on scene and began negotiations with Wold in an attempt for him to surrender and exit the house.

The Blount County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team was called for assistance and after approximately 2 hours Wold surrendered and exited the house.

Wold was placed under arrest and is being held at the Loudon County Detention Center. This is still an active investigation and more information will be provided as it comes available.
