Fort Loudon Marina marks second dock collapse after heavy snowfall in East Tennessee
Officials are asking people to avoid the area while crews work the collapse
 

LENOIR CITY, Tenn. (WVLT) - Fort Loudon Marina is now the second marina to see a dock collapse after East Tennessee saw heavy snowfall early this week.

The Lenoir City Fire Department, Loudon County Marine Rescue and Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency all responded to the collapse to conduct evacuations, LCFD officials said. No one was injured.
 
“Please do not come to the marina to look. Roads are treacherous and this is a dangerous situation,” Lenoir City mayor Tony Aikens said. “Please allow emergency personnel to do their work.”
 
Sun Life’s Concord Marina also saw a collapse due to snow. People are still not allowed near the dock at Concord.

No injuries after roof collapse at Fort Loudon Marina

LENOIR CITY, Tenn. (WATE) — The roof of a marina dock has collapsed in Lenoir City, according to a release from the Lenoir City Fire Department.

The fire department released that it was on the scene of a structural collapse at the Dockominium at Fort Loudon Marina.
 

No injuries were reported. Evacuations were were completed before the collapse with assistance by Loudon County Marine Rescue and the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency.

Photos and video of the dock show the roof laying across the top of the boats beneath it. A thick sheet of snow is also visible across the roof.
 

In Knox County, the Sun Life Marina – Concord also suffered a collapse of a metal roof structure. No injuries were reported, according to a post shared on social media by management.
