On Thursday Oct. 3, at approximately 2:04 a.m., Patrolman Will Jenkins of the Loudon Police Department reportedly observed a Dodge Neon cross the center line on Mulberry Street multiple times as it was heading north.

Jenkins then conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle near 846 Mulberry Street, where he made contact with 23-year old-Catarina Diego Pascua of Loudon.

Due to a language barrier, Jenkins contacted Deputy Rivera with the Loudon County Sheriff ’s Office who provided “exemplary translation assistance” over the phone throughout this incident. Upon running the offender through Dispatch, Officer Jenkins discovered she didn’t have a valid driver’s license.

Pascua also informed Jenkins that she didn’t have insurance on the vehicle at which point Jenkins noticed that the registration on the vehicle expired in July 2024.

Jenkins took Pascua into custody and transported her to the Loudon County Jail. The vehicle was left on scene per the offender’s request.

According to the report, this was the second time that Patrolman Jenkins had stopped the offender for poor driving behavior.

Pascua was charged with driving on roadways laned for traffic, expiration of certificates and plates, financial responsibility law, license required and released on $1,000 bond.

ABNORMAL DRIVING LEADS TO PHILADELPHIA MAN’S ARREST After a local law enforcement officer in Loudon witnessed a strange driving pattern, the subsequent traffic stop led to discoveries.

On Wednesday Oct. 2, Officer Luke Hawkins of the Loudon Police Department was traveling north on Maremont Parkway behind a blue Dodge Neon. According to the report obtained by The News-Herald, the observed vehicle crossed over the white fog line two times in the straight and slowed down to approximately 10 miles per hour under the posted speed limit of 40 mph.

Officer Hawkins then initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle at the Westside Terrace Apartments, where he made contact with the driver. Upon further investigation, the driver was identified as 35-year-old Christopher Lee of Philadelphia, who was reportedly on his cellphone.

When Hawkins asked if the driver had a valid driver’s license he stated, “I don’t know.” He provided Hawkins with his Tennessee identification card and that information was relayed to Dispatch.

Dispatch then advised Hawkins that the suspect’s license had been revoked for driving under the influence. Officer Hawkins then placed Lee into custody and Officer Nix transported him to the Loudon County Jail.
