Florida man charged in motel complaint
A Florida man is facing a gun charge while under the
influence after law enforcement responded to a call Saturday at a
Loudon motel on Highway 72.
Loudon Police Officer Marty Ward was dispatched to a
complaint of a man with a gun who was kicking on a motel room door.
When Ward arrived, witnesses pointed him to the lobby
where Matthew OBrien Fender, 43, was dressed in camouflage and
removing a pistol from his waistband.
Fender placed the gun on a table, along with two
magazines, after Ward told Fender to put the weapon down and get on
the ground. Fender had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and
admitted to drinking about eight beers while watching football.
He stated he has a valid carry permit in Florida
but it was destroyed in Hurricane Michael, Ward wrote in a
report. Upon speaking with several witnesses, they stated the
male in question walked up the stairs of the motel and broke a
bottle on the concrete and then started kicking the room door.
They then stated he pulled out a pistol, racked a round in the
chamber and pointed it at the door.
They
stated this is when one of them ran to the lobby and told them
to call 911.
Fender said he didnt know why a person called
law enforcement, adding that he walked to the store to get a
candy bar and drink.
Fender, Lynn Haven, Fla., was charged with
possession of a handgun while under the influence and released
on $1,000 bond.
Oct. 22
Daniel Wayne Capps, 32, Philadelphia, was
charged with violation of probation and held on $2,000 bond.
Nelson L. Harmon, 48, Philadelphia, was charged
with habitual motor offender and driving on a revoked/suspended
license and released on $4,500 bond.
Elizabeth Marie Johnson, 46, Lenoir City,
was charged with aggravated burglary and theft of property
less than $1,000 and released on $6,000 bond.
Marty Lee Robinson, 39, Harriman, was
charged with municipal court capias and released on $1,000
bond.
Oct. 23
Michael Eugene Chastain, 45, Loudon, was
charged with public intoxication and released on $1,000
bond.
Matthew Harrison Cooper, 26, Knoxville, and
Preston Mitchell Cooper, 23, Knoxville, were both charged
with possession of a firearm during a dangerous felony,
felony possession of a Schedule VI substance, manufacture,
sell, delivery or sale of a Schedule VI substance,
possession of drug paraphernalia and tampering/fabricating
with evidence and held on $75,000 bond. Dispatched to a
wreck with injuries on Interstate 75, Tennessee Highway
Patrol Trooper Alexander Evans was notified by dispatch that
one of the passengers took a black bag into the woods and
returned to the wreck without the bag. Prior to his arrival,
Evans learned a Glock 22 40-caliber pistol with a loaded
magazine was recovered from the wreck. Both passengers,
Matthew Cooper and Preston Mitchell Cooper, were transported
to Fort Loudoun Medical Center for treatment, and the female
driver was taken to University of Tennessee Medical Center
for a head injury. A Loudon County officer on scene had
retrieved the black bag from the woods and placed it on his
patrol vehicle, Evans wrote in a report. The bag was
covered in blood and had a very strong odor of marijuana
emitting from it. The bag contained 2 ounces of marijuana.
Also located was a blue floral bag with plastic baggies and
a purple scale with a leafy green residue on the surface.
Evans was notified that Matthew and Preston Cooper refused
medical attention and tried leaving the hospital, and Evans
requested they be detained. After arriving at the hospital,
Evans questioned both men. Matthew Cooper eventually
admitted the gun, bag and all contents were his.
Tabetha Leeanne Davilla, 38, Knoxville,
was charged with general sessions court capias and held
on $28,000 bond.
Jeremy Nathan Dotson, 43, Loudon, was
charged with violation of probation and held without
bond.
James E. Geter Sr., 50, Knoxville, was
charged with general sessions court capias and held on
$4,000 bond.
Rachel Koster, 37, Knoxville, was
charged with two counts of contempt of court and held on
$300 bond.
Justin Lee Pack, 30, Knoxville, was
charged with general sessions court capias and released
on $1,000 bond.
Oct. 24
Willie James Calhoun, 34,
Montgomery, Ala., was charged with public
intoxication and released on $2,500 bond.
Mandy Annette McDonald, 42,
Sweetwater, was charged with violation of probation
and held without bond.
Oct. 25
Justin Lee Jackson, 20, Loudon, was
charged with hindering secured creditors and held on
$5,000 bond.
Brittany Megara Kinser, 30, Lenoir
City, was charged with aggravated domestic assault
and held without bond. Dispatched to West 1st Avenue
in reference to a physical incident between Kinser
and a young female, Lenoir City Police Officer
Jordan Samuels spoke to the young female who said
the two argued earlier in the day for her not waking
up on time for school. The girl claimed Kinser
physically hurt her, causing her to be in a corner
and wait for her great-grandmother to arrive to take
her to school. After returning home from school, the
girl said Kinser was acting strange. (The girl)
states that Brittany tackled her on her bed and
began hitting her at which time she hit Brittany
back, Samuels wrote in a report. (The girl) then
states that Brittany followed her several times
around a table and she then attempted to leave the
residence through the back door at which time
Brittany grabbed her left arm causing scratches.
The girl claimed Kinser tried choking her twice and
slapped her in the face. Kinser stated that she was
hit by the girl while she was showering during that
day. She stated when the girl returned home from
school was she was irate, slapped her and then
called her grandmother to come get her.
Stephanie Yvette Reed, 44,
Maryville, was charged with theft of property
and held on $2,000 bond.
Jason Lee Stroud, 44, Lenoir
City, was charged with vandalism and released on
$1,000 bond.
Jeffrey Samuel Saunders,
37, Oak Ridge, was charged with exploitation
of an elderly adult and held on $15,000
bond. Saunders was arrested Oct. 19 for
theft of property and violation of probation
and was served the warrant while in jail. A
victim claims between June-October more than
$10,000 was taken through deception.
According to the victim, she received many
telephone calls soliciting money on behalf
of (a Lenoir City Baptist church) for needy
families or for the youth group, Daniel
Morton, Tennessee Highway Patrol sergeant,
wrote in a report.
During the calls, the suspect would tell
the victim someone would come to her
residence to pick up the money for the
church. At some point a person would
pick up the money claiming to be the youth
director. Carrie Leanne Hurst, 34, Oak
Ridge, was also served a warrant in jail for
the same charge and held on $15,000 bond.
Oct. 26
Shane Hunter Chaney, 32,
Lenoir City, was charged with domestic
assault-felony and held on $7,500 bond.
Erin Rose Ernest, 32,
Madisonville, was charged with public
intoxication and released on $390 bond.
Tyler James Davi
Skidmore, 22, Loudon, was charged with
assisting other agency and released
without bond.
Eric C. Tipton, 29,
Lenoir City, was charged with two
counts of domestic
assault-misdemeanor and held on
$3,000 bond.
Toby James Townson,
50, Lenoir City, was charged with
failure to appear and released on
$2,000 bond.
Jose Manue
Zavala-Gonzalez, 27, Lenoir City,
was charged with driving under the
influence, criminal impersonation
and driving on a revoked/suspended
license and released on $3,500 bond.
Oct. 27
Joshua Eric Allen,
27, Knoxville, was charged with
public intoxication and simple
possession/casual exchange and held
on $4,000 bond.
Joshua Ricardo
Cardenez, 30, Lake Dallas, Texas,
was charged with aggravated assault
and released on $5,000 bond.
Notified by another deputy of an
assault at a Halloween attraction on
Highway 11, Loudon County Sheriffs
Office Deputy Marshall Lynn spoke
with a woman who stated she was an
employee and was working a course
designed for employees to touch
patrons to make the tour scarier.
Cardenez allegedly wore a glow
necklace, which indicated he chose
that specific tour. (The woman)
stated she jumped out in front of
Joshua Cardenez and grabbed his
hands, which is allowed in the touch
tour, Lynn wrote in a report. (The
woman) further stated Joshua
Cardenez then pushed her hands away
and grabbed her throat, and at that
time Joshua Cardenez squeezed her
throat, making it difficult for her
to breathe and pushed her backward.
She estimated the choking occurred
5-7 seconds before he released her
and continued through the course.
Cardenez said he pushed her hands
away and touched her in the neck
area but did not grab her neck.

Miller, 46, Loudon, was charged
with domestic assault,
possession of drug paraphernalia
and simple possession/casual
exchange and released on $3,500
bond.

was charged with theft under
$1,000 and released on
$1,000 bond.

David Wayne
Day, 29, Lenoir City, was
charged with aggravated
assault and held on $15,000
bond.
Aaron
Douglas Hensley, 33, Lenoir
City, was charged with
driving under the influence
and two counts of possession
of a handgun while under the
influence and released on
$3,000 bond. Witnessing a
gray GMC travel at a high
rate of speed and cross the
double yellow and fog lines
multiple times on Highway
72, LCSO Deputy Brandon
Pesterfield stopped the
vehicle at Vonore Road.
Pesterfield identified
Hensley and noticed a strong
odor of an alcoholic
beverage. Hensley had
bloodshot, watery eyes, a
sluggish appearance and
slurred speech. When asked
how much he had to drink,
Hensley said enough. After
Hensley was placed into
custody, Pesterfield said he
had a firearm inside his
vehicle. Pesterfield located
a M&P Shield in the
passenger floorboard and a
spike tactical rifle in the
backseat floorboard. He also
found an open can of beer
between the driver and
passenger seats.

was charged with driving
under the influence and
released on $1,000 bond.

with driving under the
influence and held
without bond.
