First Meeting
The first meeting of the newly appointed Loudon
County Solid Waste Commission, LCSWC, went off with out a hitch. The new
membership took steps to begin the process of improving the board's
activities.
County commissioners now fill four of the five seats on the board appointed by the county. Tammi Bivens represents the city of Loudon and the Lenoir City seat is currently vacant. One of the board's first actions was to hire a competent contract after the previous board attorney resigned. The new board seems to be on pace to hold the landfill contractor to all the points of the multimillion dollar contract. The LCSWC meets monthly. |
