Alyssa B. Martin news-herald.net
In a private ceremony on Monday, Nov. 25, Loudon Fire Department made history by promoting Erin Gray to be the first female full-time firefighter ever for the agency. With her extensive background in the fire service and a strong commitment to her community, Gray’s promotion marks a significant milestone for both the department and the county.
The
journey here began about six years ago when Gray decided, at
34 years old, that she wanted to switch careers and pursue
her dream of becoming a firefighter. At any age, changing
careers can be stressful and daunting — but Gray had fierce
determination and the unwavering support of her family.
