Election Meeting Tonight
| The Loudon County Election Commission will be meeting
tonight, 8/27/18, to hear the petition filed by Lenoir City officials to
have Earlena Maples removed from the ballot of the November city council
election. Ms. Maples has also been invited to respond to the city's
petition. The election commission could remove Ms. Maples from the ballot at Lenoir City's request then it would be Ms. Maples option to challenge the decision in Chancery Court, or they could leave Ms. Maples name on the ballot and it would be up to Lenoir City to challenge the decision in Chancery Court, or they could remove all candidates employed by LCUB, or they could just pass the whole thing straight to Chancery Court and let a judge decide the matter. The meeting will be at 7:00 pm at the Loudon County Office Building. |
